What can I expect during our initial design consultation?

Our first meeting, over coffee or virtually, is more than just a casual chat. During this session, we'll dive deeply into your style preferences, daily needs, and the dreams you have for your space. It's a valuable time for us to collaboratively brainstorm and lay the groundwork for your project.

Can I hire you just for the initial concept and layout design?

Can I hire you just for the initial concept and layout design?

Absolutely! If you’re comfortable handling the details and build yourself, I’m thrilled to help conceptualize the space. I specialize in laying the groundwork for design-savvy clients like you, ensuring the blueprint is perfectly aligned with your vision.

Can I also hire you to design other rooms or even my whole house?

Can I also hire you to design other rooms or even my whole house?

Certainly! While my website shows a strong focus on kitchens and bathrooms due to their complexity and the unique challenges they present, I am fully skilled and keen to take on full-home projects or additional rooms. Starting with a kitchen (or bath) often leads to opportunities to enhance adjoining areas, such as laundry or mud rooms, creating a cohesive design throughout your home. Whether you’re looking to redesign a single room or are considering a comprehensive overhaul, I’d love to bring your entire space to life. Let's explore how we can extend beautiful, functional design beyond the kitchen and bath to transform your whole house.

How do you make sure we stay within my budget?

How do you make sure we stay within my budget?

Budget management is integral to my design process. I start by understanding your financial comfort zone to ensure our plans align with your expectations. Early in the design phase, we'll connect with a builder to obtain preliminary pricing. This helps us stay on track and avoid the need for significant changes later, which could impact your budget.

When it comes to ordering materials and fixtures, I strive for transparency. While I often pass along trade discounts to you, there are instances, such as with plumbing fixtures and tiles, where the contractor may handle purchases to ensure warranties and proper integration with the build. In these cases, although I may not be able to offer a direct discount, I will always seek the most cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.

Please note that for orders I manage, I charge my hourly rate. This covers the time spent ensuring that each item meets our specifications and is delivered on schedule, maintaining the integrity and timeline of your project.

What if I'm not thrilled with the initial design?

What if I'm not thrilled with the initial design?

No worries at all! Design is a process, and your happiness is my priority. If the first draft doesn’t quite hit the mark, I’m happy to tweak and adjust it until you say, "That’s it!" Your feedback is crucial; I love fine-tuning things until they’re just right.

How will you help me choose materials and finishes?

How will you help me choose materials and finishes?

I guide you through the maze of options out there, including tiles to hardware. Not only will I bring samples and create mood boards to help visualize the potential, but we will also visit showrooms together. This allows us to handpick fixtures, tile, lighting and appliances that perfectly match your aesthetic and functional needs. By seeing and touching the materials firsthand, you'll feel more confident in your choices. Together, we'll select materials that are not only gorgeous but also practical for your lifestyle, ensuring that every aspect of your space is tailored to suit your needs perfectly.
